Christmas Around the World Unit Study for Kindergarten

By Forge Learning · Updated October 2026

A Christmas around the world unit lets a kindergartner "travel" to a new country each day in December, with a story, a map, a craft and a little math. We made one for ages 5-7. Here is exactly what's in it (from the product file), then other unit studies and free culture resources from our directory.

Frequently asked questions

How long is the Christmas Around the World unit?
It's planned as 10 days and comes with a parent guide and a 10-day plan. It visits 8 countries on 5 continents in 50 printable pages.
Is it secular or religious?
It is secular-friendly. Religious customs are described only as facts about how each country celebrates. For a Bible-based December option, Advent Copywork has one King James verse a day.
Does it work for kindergarten and 1st grade together?
Yes. The math has a kindergarten level (counting to 20) and a 1st grade level (story problems within 20), and the country pages are written for ages 5-7.
What hands-on activities are included?
6 crafts and 4 recipes (with grown-up help for scissors, the stove and the oven), plus a passport with stamps, a world map, a graph, a Venn diagram and a 10-page mini-book.
Are there free Christmas around the world resources?
Homeschool Share has free unit studies and printables browsable by topic and season, and National Geographic Kids has free geography content. Neither is Christmas-specific.
